April 2026 Tournaments
Away Days — Murcia Tour | 2–3 April 2026
Members were set to descend on Murcia for the club's annual two-day tour, with Lo Romero and Serena Golf providing the backdrop for what promised to be a keenly contested competition. Both courses offer a stern challenge, and the battle for the trophy was always going to go down to the wire.
The trip was organised by Ben Van Zutphen and William Marshall — a big thank you to both for making it happen.
Away Day Trophy — Results
The two-day tour across Lo Romero and Serena Golf did not disappoint. When the dust settled, it was Martin Leyshon who claimed the Winners Cup and Medal in a performance that, by his own admission, surpassed his expectations. The trophy was presented by previous year's winner Clive Challoner.
It went right to the wire, as anticipated. Robert Giles pushed hard throughout, finishing runner-up on countback, with the trophy presented by last year's runner-up Andrew Jagger.
Nearest the Pin honours over the two days went to:
John Delaney
Robert Giles
William Marshall
Congratulations to all the winners and well done to everyone who made the trip — we look forward to doing it all again next year!
🏆 Francis McNeil Memorial Trophy - at Javea de Golf - 4 February 2026
The Francis McNeil Memorial Trophy was contested over a medal format, with players competing on gross score before handicap deductions were applied — a true test of each player's game on the day.
When the scores were tallied, it was Ben Van Zutphen who took the honours with an outstanding net score of 69, a performance thoroughly deserving of the victory. David Hamilton pushed him hard, finishing in second place with a net score of 74.
The results were announced in style during the evening at La Copita Bar in Javea Port — the perfect setting to celebrate a fine day's golf.
Well played Ben — a thoroughly deserved win.
